Special Projects & Installations
From museum exhibits to one-of-a-kind installations, we bring the same rigging expertise to projects that go beyond the factory floor.
Wheel of Fortune at The Strong National Museum of Play
The Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester acquired the original Wheel of Fortune puzzle board from NBC Studios in Los Angeles for their new game show exhibit. Sanford Industrial Contractors was brought in to rig the oversized board into the building, which required removing a precast wall section from the museum to get it into position.
The installation made headlines across the region and was described as one of the biggest acquisitions in the museum's history.
Ontario County Courthouse
We crane-lifted the gilded Lady Justice statue back to the top of the Ontario County Courthouse dome in Canandaigua. The project required two cranes working in tandem to position the statue precisely on the restored dome, high above the streets of downtown.
The courthouse is a historic Canandaigua landmark, and returning Lady Justice to her place at the top of the dome was a project that demanded both heavy-lift capability and careful handling of an irreplaceable piece of local history.
Clock of Nations
The Clock of Nations stood in Rochester's Midtown Plaza for decades as a beloved local landmark. After years in storage, our crew carefully reassembled the multi-story clock tower with its rotating world city dioramas inside its new permanent home.
The project involved precision forklift work, scissor lifts, and painstaking reassembly of the decorative components, each of which had to be positioned exactly as they were in the original installation.
